Consumer’s creation and acquisition of digital media is growing rapidly, driving demand for increasing storage capacities. The days of photo albums and video tapes are a thing of the past as more and more people have there data centralised on a pc or storage device

Western Digital is best known for hard drives and storage.

The My Book series of external drives have continually sent the bench

mark of what consumers should expect it today’s drives.

The new range of My Book network drives comes in a 2 Terabyte size.

Inside the sleek case are 2 one terabyte drives which by default is setup in mirrored mode, meaning you store identical copies of data on separate disks. Giving you backup plan if the drive ever fails.

For the advanced user you can uninstall the mirror and have the full 2 terabytes at you finger tips. Which are 571000 pix or 880 DVD quality movies.

Installation is easy plug the drive into your router and then run the installation cd. The software sends crawler on your network to discover the network drive.

Shazzam!!!  you have a 1 terabyte external drive for you to use on your network.

These drives ship in a variety of colours and they would look great in any living room.
It would be great added feature if these external drives had a wireless option as well

for extra flexibility.

For those that don’t need an external drive check out the new range of internal hard drives from WD the Caviar Green drives which use less power and support quieter, cooler-running desktop PCs.
