Wireless peripheral devices like mouses and keyboards have been around for awhile.
Most have failed to grab users imagination.
The problem with these devices is that they need batteries to operate and once the battery starts to run down you can get the devices doing some strange behaviour like incorrect or non responsive keystrokes.
As a user this is very frustrating if you are in the middle of a word document or email, and it can be disastrous if you were just about to frag your opponent or invade his base with your army in a game.

Logitech has been designing and manufacturing input devices for 30 years.
Recently they have come up with the worlds first Wireless Solar Powered Keyboard, the K750, that can be powered by both sunlight and indoor lighting just like the old fashioned school solar calculators.

Once the keyboard is fully charged it can stay charged for up to 3 months even in total darkness.
Ergonomically the K750 is lightweight and has the look and feel of a Laptop keyboard but the size of a standard desktop keyboard.

Setup takes a few seconds, disconnect your current keyboard and then plug in the tiny USB Unifying wireless receiver and you are connected.
You can now send keyboard commands from across the room to you computer, this is handy if you are running a media centre pc in your living room.

If you have other compatible wireless devices you can connect them all with the one Unifying USB reciever. This keyboard is designed to minimize your carbon footprint as you will never have spent batteries to go into landfill and you can power down the keyboard using a sliding switch on the keyboard.

The K750 is a little pricey for a keyboard and it might take a while to get used to the laptop feel.
Other than that it is a good device and it can help save the planet.
